Rebekah Fieschi is a Franco-English writer and filmmaker originally from Corsica.
Rebekah’s storytelling career began in kindergarten, telling her mother (what she called) “stories” or (what her mother called) “elaborate lies”. She had already fallen in love with movies and books, despite being unable to read by herself for several more years because of un-diagnosed dyslexia. This early confusion between reality and fantasy has inspired much of her work and led her to develop an affinity for the fantasy genre, ghost stories and children’s literature.
Her award-winning short films Sylphvania Grove, Mauvaises Têtes, and The Unvisited played in festivals around the world including FrightFest, FantaFestival and Starburst FilmFest. Sylphvania Grove is now available on Prime Video (US and UK), IndieFlix and on Allindì (France). The Unvisited is playing on IndieFlix and Allindì (France).
She won the 2023 Kelpies Prize for Writing and has been longlisted for Searchlight's Best Children's Picture Book Text 2023. Her fiction has appeared in the literary magazines The William and Mary Review and The Caterpillar.
She is currently looking for a producer to collaborate with on her next short film and on her first feature. She is also developing several works of prose while trying to keep the peace between her two black cats.
